#74 another meal served!

My big meal for Jan was my fathers birthday, Jan 15th. I made pot roast with small red potatoes, baby carrots and onion, home made cornbread and a peanut butter cake with chocolte icing and peanut butter cream filling...OMG it's to die for!

Here's pics of the cake, the roast was yummy but I didn't fancy it up so no pics were taken.

#77 a craft project

I needed a bedside lamp for my room so I can read and not have the overhead light blaring all night long (since I have been known to fall asleep reading). I didn't want to spend a fortune so this is where I decided being crafty would come in handy.
The lamp didn't have a shade orginally and was only $4 at the antique store. I also found the shade there but it was stark white, I hated it but for $1.50 who could turn it down. To darken up the shade I did a coffee stain, then to add a bit of wild I added the leopard trim. Now I have the perfect lamp and the total cost was maybe $8.00 counting taxes.

Goal 47... paint a picture

This was my first painting! I really enjoyed it and have decided to do more for my room.

Completed Goals!

1. I've started reading the bible. I am enjoying this alot and finding alot of peace in doing so.

91. I completed 3 books (and have started several others). Remember Me by Mary Higgins Clark, awesome book! Crepes of Wrath by Tamar Myers, very cute light mystery. Later at the Bar by Rebecca Barry, Becki sent me this one and it's wonderful... light reading and a book the makes you feel like you can really relate to it's characters in someway or another.

99. I wrote a cookbook of mine and some family recipes for Brian and Melinda for Christmas. I'm saving it to get bound as a book one day but for them I did it in a binder so they can add to it.

43. Michael, Tom and I went the the beach in Nov before I left and I was able to do some sea shell hunting. It was one of the best days I had in Florida my second time living there. It's a nice place to visit, just not to live for me.

56. This goal started as plans for a vacation but turned into a move for me when Tom and I seperated. I really love the beauty Arkansas has to offer and am getting used to the weather, it's alot like TX so it hasn't been too hard to do.

38.I hate to say I have slacked up on the 60:60 but I am praying daily, sometimes several times a day depending on how things are going. Sometimes I give more thanks than asking for help to make it through the day, this is a hugh change from a few months ago.

74. I have made 2 big family meals for the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

85. I helped get the entire house and outside decortated this year. I loved how everything turned out, even if I don't have many pics :(

5. I managed to send out a few Christmas cards this year. Hopefully I get better with the up coming holidays though.

33. As part of my journey to a "better" self I had to make a list of deepest desires. I did learn a few things about myself which is always a good thing.

96 and 97. I made donations this year to 2 different charity's.

70. I finally got my hair trimmed. I don't have a decent pic yet though. I got some layers and the ends cut off, it's already so much healthier looking and I love it.

81. I managed to get one ornament bought this year, but it's a start. It is a heart that says "Dear God, Christmas is Love"

76. Find a church home. This was a harder goal for me because I also stepped away from the Catholic church. I found a little church close to home and have gone for several weeks. I wasn't sure if it was going to be my "home" until this past Sunday when I had an amazing experience and now I can't see it not being my church home.

When I was MIA!

I've done a number of my goals while I was offline which was kind of nice. I also did a little editing due to changes in my life and what I feel is important.
